Looking after yourself

This category is about looking after yourself, you are important. Looking after someone who is battling an eating disorder is a pressurised, relentless and responsible role. It is easy to neglect your own physical and emotional health. Recovery is difficult and lengthy and so you must learn to take time off for the sake of your own health. A distraction activity can be a terrific diffuser of your worries which can give you a more objective perspective. You will have to plan time for yourself, but it will be worth it for you and for the person that you are supporting. It will help others to share how you find time to switch off and what do you do to look after yourself?

Suggestions for post topics; how to make real down time for yourself, keeping positive through the difficult days, keeping consistent belief in their recovery, managing worries, building in support so that you can have time off, trying to be consistently positive again, managing grief, anger and sadness so that it doesn’t impact on your health, keeping  good relations with friends and family, making time for partners, making time for other family members, other children and friends, managing your diet, shopping and taking time over your appearance, reading, socialising, sport.
