Recovery

Recovery is about working to return to a normalised pattern of behaviours, key factors include diet, weight restoration and activity. Recovery begins as soon as the person struggling with the eating disorder decides that they want to work towards their recovery. Recovery does not follow a steady, linear or consistent pattern and it can have many twists and turns. Recovery is different for every person. This category is about giving you hope and helping you to recognise and support those tentative and positive steps.

Suggestions for posts topics; GP support, after care support, working with your care worker, therapists, how can parents, partners, siblings, grandparents and teachers support recovery, promoting honesty, planning the return to sport/activity, planning a family holiday, understanding recovery drugs, planning mealtimes, recovery timescales, using pets as therapy, rebuilding trust, consistent support, modelling positivity, using support agencies.
