Eating Disorders in Teenagers

It can be hard to identify those at genuine risk from eating disorders from those who are just dieting and showing the weight obsession typical of their age. However, on the whole parent's instincts tend to be correct, so if you are concerned, do discuss the situation with one of our staff or with your GP. Remember also that emotional factors such as bereavement, anxieties over schoolwork or about school in general or about family matters can be a trigger into an eating disorder.
